Whether you're an experienced hiker looking for a challenge or a novice ready to start your hiking journey, there's plenty of opportunity for you. With miles of trails, beautiful lakes and views beyond compare, this is the place to be for outdoor activity.
To get you started, here are a few of the best trails for hiking in Sequoia National Park.
Easy: These trails are generally good for all hikers and take about one hour.
Hazelwood Nature Trail: 1 mile, self-guided loop through stands of giant sequoias with trail-side educational exhibits. Hear the Giant Forest Museum.
Big Trees Trail: Accessible trail with handicap parking nearby. This 1.2 mile trail circles Round Meadow on a paved path
Moderate: These trail require a little more effort and might not be good for all hikers.
Moro Rock: Though only about .6 miles roundtrip, hikers will need to climb about 400 stairs to reach the top of iconic Moro Rock. The views of the Great Western Divide are worth the effort. Plan about 1 hour.
Tokopah Falls Trails: Best experienced in spring and early summer when the 1,200-foot falls put on a great show. This mostly easy 3.4-mile round-trip trail takes about 2 to 3 hours.
Challenging: For the more experienced hiker looking for a challenge.
High Sierra Trail: The trailhead is at Crescent Meadow and heads out to the wildness areas of the park. Well-marked and easy to navigate, the trail to Bearpaw Meadow is 11.5 miles each way.
