Visit Visalia hosts Fireside Chat on Sequoia and Kings Canyon National Parks

Public is Invited to Join the Conversation, Q&A with Superintendent Woody Smeck

Visalia, Calif. (Jan. 4, 2021) - Community members interested in learning more about what’s coming to Sequoia & Kings Canyon National Parks in 2020 are invited to join the conversation at the first “Fireside Chat” hosted by Visit Visalia.

Visalia, California is known as “the gateway to the Sequoias.” Located near the foothills of the Sierra Nevada mountains, it is the most robust city near Sequoia & Kings Canyon National Parks. The destination allows visitors to experience the adventure of the National Parks, while also dining at unique, on-trend restaurants, experiencing craft breweries and enjoying art, shopping and dining.

WHAT: The Fireside Chat is a community conversation with Sequoia & Kings Canyon National Parks Superintendent Woody Smeck. After a brief update on what’s happening in the national parks, the partnership with the City of Visalia, and what visitors can expect in 2020, visitors can “chat” with the Superintendent in a Q&A format that will allow attendees to ask the superintendent their park-related questions.

WHEN: Wednesday, Jan. 29, from 5-6:30 p.m.

WHO: The event, hosted by Visit Visalia, is open to the public and media at no charge. While attendance is free, advanced registration is required due to limited capacity. Attendees can register and submit their questions here.

WHERE: The Fireside Chat will be held at the Visit Visalia offices, located at 112 Main St., Visalia, CA 93291.
