City of Visalia Welcomes Back Grand Chapter of California

Order of Eastern Star

Visalia, CA (October 4, 2023)— The city of Visalia is pleased to welcome back the Grand Chapter of California, Order of the Eastern Star October 18-21, 2023 for their 149th Annual Session. “Having Fun in the Southwestern Sun” is the theme for this year’s conference. Order of Eastern Star is the largest fraternal organization in the world to which both women and men may belong. Presiding over the event are Worthy Grand Matron Kimberlie Kavanaugh Kruse of Camarillo, California, and Worthy Grand Patron Gary Dunham of Richmond, California.

“Visalia is always excited to welcome Order of the Eastern Star to our city,” said Brian Poochigian, Mayor of Visalia. “Our pedestrian-friendly downtown with restaurants, boutiques and entertainment venues, and just steps from our Convention Center, is ideal for convention groups such as Order of Eastern Star.” The annual session brings OES members from across the state and beyond for the multi-day event which has been held in Visalia since 2014.

The Order of the Eastern Star has evolved over time, while remaining rooted in charitable endeavors and fraternal fellowship. It offers its members various opportunities for personal growth and community involvement. The State of California Grand Chapter is divided into 39 districts with multiple chapters within each district. 

While the business sessions are restricted to members of the Order, the public is welcome to attend the    informal Opening session to be held on Wednesday, October 18 as well as the Masonic Youth Session and Grand Installation to be held on Saturday, October 21. Registration is not required for attendance at these public events.
