Visit Visalia has moved!

Suzanne | 03/12/2019 | Dine, Downtown Visalia, Meeting Venues, Shopping, Stay, Things to Do

We’ve moved to a new office to better serve you. New beginnings, new ideas, new energy! Exciting and Surprising!

Walt Disney said it best: ‘Around here, however, we don’t look backwards for very long. We keep moving forward, opening up new doors and doing new things . . . and curiosity keeps leading us down new paths.’

Visit Visalia is thrilled to have moved to a new office! Our new location at 112 East Main Street in Visalia, just a block from the Convention Center, is right smack dab in the heart of everything – next to restaurants, boutiques, and entertainment venues. Oh, and did we mention the wine bar across the street?? We can’t wait for you to come see us!

This past year has been busy, filled with changes and growth. We have a new website, a new logo and a new outlook. And with all these changes came the opportunity to relocate and create a new space that better represents what Visit Visalia is all about: providing a welcoming and informative space that encourages travel to our beautiful city.

For more than 5 years we have had our offices at the Visalia Transit Center. As the transportation hub in Visalia – V-Line, Sequoia Shuttle, Amtrak, Greyhound and more pull in and out the depot each day, 7 days a week- it was a great visitor center location for visitors arriving by public transportation.  For those that arrived by car or were attending a convention at the Convention Center, the transit center was not quite as convenient. But 4 blocks can make a difference. That’s as far as we are moving – just 4 blocks from our current location. But it feels like miles.

So what does moving look like when you only are moving just around the corner? Well, pretty much the same as if you were moving across the city! All those drawers filled with endless files, maps and guides need to be cleared out. New computer and phone hook ups. Most importantly, though, we are working on putting together a new design layout that will welcome our visitors to Visalia.

What can you expect from our new location? To begin with, more space! More space for travelers to look through maps and brochures to plan out their vacation. More room to talk with staff to get our recommendations on where to go, what to see, and where to eat. Want to see the Big Trees or go hiking up in Sequoia National Park? We have maps and guides for that. Been to the parks and are now looking for what else to do around Visalia? Yep. We can help with that too.

We still have boxes to unpack, pictures to hang, and furniture to arrange. But it is beginning to feel like home. Over the next few months we will have everything in order to provide a warm welcome and friendly atmosphere to visitors from near and far.

So come and stroll along Main Street, grab a bite to eat in one of our great Visalia restaurants, shop in our unique boutiques, and drop into our office to say hello. We would love to see you real soon!
